About the position

The IT Product Manager for Finance at W.B. Mason Company, Inc. acts as a liaison between the Corporate Finance team and the IT Department, focusing on bridging business needs with technology solutions. This role involves supporting various aspects of Corporate Finance, including Accounts Payable and Accounting, and aims to improve business processes through the development, implementation, and maintenance of business applications systems. The position is remote with occasional travel required, primarily within the Northeast U.S.

Responsibilities

• Elicit business and functional requirements from stakeholders and document these needs for systems design and development.
• Provide options and recommendations to meet business partners' needs.
• Distinguish user requests from underlying true needs.
• Draft user interface design for new systems.
• Identify data requirements for new systems or modifications.
• Participate in solution architecture and technical design.
• Facilitate the decision process of build vs. buy and assist in vendor selection if necessary.
• Adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Validate that requirements are covered by the solution and assist in creating test plans.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing and Quality Assurance of new applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Technology related discipline preferred.
• 2-4 years of business systems analysis experience.
• Demonstrated experience in business process development and improvement.
• Effective use of business modeling techniques such as process and workflow modeling.
• Experience in eliciting and documenting requirements resulting in quality deliverables with limited direction.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX or Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• High-level understanding of financial procedures and terminology is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with SQL is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle, Change Management, Release Management, Configuration Management, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, Project Management, and Systems Analysis and Design.
• Experience supporting Accounts Payable or Accounting departments is a plus.
