Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain APIs as products along with their required features, ensuring APIs deliver value and reusability to the business.
  • Partner with solution teams to ensure APIs are well documented in the API Marketplace.
  • Ensure optimal developer experience of the API Marketplace and its effectiveness through identification and tracking of key metrics for the API strategy.
  • Influence and partner with other technologists and leaders to foster relationships across Solution teams.
  • Manage work intake for the group and coordinate efforts with the team.
  • Work closely with executive leadership, program and project management, project sponsors and stakeholders, other technical product managers, and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendor partners to ensure project deliverables and timelines defined in statement of work (SOW) contracts are being met.
  • Promote an API First mindset across IT and support IT initiatives related to API Strategy and Developer Services.
  • Help solution teams ideate roadmaps and work towards accomplishing their API journey.

Requirements

  • 6 or more years of relevant experience in IT product management.
  • Experience with API and Microservice architecture and implementations.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and related project/task management tools like Jira.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills with proven ability to deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to gain consensus and cooperation from multiple areas/departments.
  • Leadership and team-centric skills including collaboration, networking, influencing, team-building, and mentoring abilities.
  • Proven experience in working effectively in cross-functional teams and maintaining relationships across the organization.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Commitment to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience with product management and ownership is a plus.
  • Familiarity with modern software development and deployment technologies including APIs, Microservices, DevOps.
  • Knowledge of API and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Business/Software Analyst experience overseeing a work queue such as Jira, ServiceNow, etc.
  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture.
