About the position

The IT Product Manager at Terracon Consultants, Inc. is responsible for managing the external client portal and delivering data, products, and services effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of geographical information systems (GIS) and involves engaging with business management to refine the IT portfolio for sustainable benefits. The IT Product Manager leads teams to deliver software solutions and acts as the primary contact for business initiatives requiring IT resources.

Responsibilities

• Manage Terracon's external client portal and deliver data, products, and services.
• Engage with business management and executives to refine the IT portfolio.
• Lead teams to deliver value through software solutions, whether developed in-house or externally.
• Participate in the development of a roadmap for each application or system within the business area.
• Share the roadmap with business, product team, and IT leadership regularly.
• Participate in business area meetings to understand the context of IT-related decisions.
• Engage in innovation sessions for significant business needs involving IT.
• Interact frequently with end users of software applications.
• Coordinate the product team's resources to fulfill business requests.
• Manage the work of the product team using suitable project management methods.
• Commit to delivering work products within scope and deadlines.
• Learn new skills and technologies to support business needs.
• Identify skills gaps within the product team and work to close them.
• Evaluate and select consultants or vendors to meet business needs.
• Follow IT department standards and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and eight to ten years of relevant experience, or twelve years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Five years of applicable business or system development experience.
• Two years of team lead or management experience.
• Experience with geographical information systems (GIS) is a plus.
• Experience with product delivery to external clients is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
