About the position

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is seeking an IT Product Manager to join the Product Management Bureau (PMB). The IT Product Manager will report to the ISD Product Management Office, specifically to the Product Management Supervisor. In this position, the IT Product Manager will collaborate with personnel at all levels within the Department of Transportation, making the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships essential for success. Responsibilities

  • Integrate SAFe methodologies into business analysis practices.
  • Collaborate with various levels of the Department of Transportation to ensure project success.
  • Conduct work with an agile mindset and apply Agile Project Methodology.
  • Evaluate program requirements relative to processes and systems development.
  • Facilitate meetings and manage project timelines and deliverables.
  • Communicate technical information in non-technical terms to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
  • Conduct research and exercise sound judgment in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Manage multiple projects and respond positively to changes in direction or priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience, with at least 1 year in the IT industry.
  • Experience with project management/business analysis tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, and MS Project.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification preferred.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in process analysis, elicitation, facilitation, and meeting management.
  • Ability to manage varying deadlines and multiple projects effectively.

Nice-to-haves
