About the position

The IT Product Owner for Platform Services is a pivotal role within the IT Enterprise Applications Section, responsible for driving the vision of software products and ensuring alignment between development teams and business stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of both software development and project management, as the Product Owner must prioritize tasks effectively to execute the product vision efficiently. The role acts as a bridge between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that business requirements are clearly articulated and translated into actionable tasks. Candidates for this position should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to make decisive decisions under pressure, and a deep understanding of agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. In this role, the IT Product Owner will be expected to provide first-class customer service, maintaining professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with internal and external customers. They will be responsible for completing training and development requirements, participating in continuing education opportunities, and working collaboratively to support the productivity and safety of the work environment. The Product Owner will also maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies, ensuring compliance in all activities. The position involves managing complex projects and special assignments, establishing objectives, determining priorities, and monitoring progress. The IT Product Owner will document key project activities, prepare project plans, and evaluate quality assurance strategies to ensure high-quality service delivery. They will analyze feedback data to lead program improvements and support multiple Agile Scrum and/or waterfall projects, assisting in the development of goals and objectives. Leadership skills are essential, as the Product Owner will need to identify and mitigate tasks, conflicts, and communication issues effectively.

  • Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information
  • Assists with various research projects and/or special projects
  • Completes complex projects and special assignments by establishing objectives, determining priorities, managing time, gaining cooperation of others, monitoring progress, problem-solving, and making adjustments as needed
  • Document key project activities and provide written and verbal reports to management personnel as requested
  • Prepares project plan and identifies needed resources to meet requirements and timeline for delivery of services on-time and under budget
  • Evaluate and implement quality assurance strategies to support high-quality, consistent benefits service delivery across the organization
  • Analyze feedback data and lead program improvements as necessary
  • Supports multiple Agile Scrum and/or waterfall projects with planning, scoping and creation of technical solutions for the new product capabilities
  • Assists in the development and progress of goals and objectives
  • Demonstrates leadership by identifying and mitigating tasks, conflict, and communication
  • Conducts extensive research on various subjects as directed by line of support, presenting findings in a clear and concise manner to support informed decision-making

Requirements

  • 5 years directly related experience
  • Bachelors of Business
  • Must be flexible and be able to adapt to last minute changes
  • Skilled in Agile and Waterfall software practices
  • Expertise in ITIL environment
