The IT Product Owner is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for collaborating with senior management to establish the strategy, vision, and roadmap for one or two key products. This position ensures that product development aligns with business goals and objectives. The Product Owner is tasked with creating and maintaining a product backlog, prioritizing tasks, and driving the completion of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). This role requires close collaboration with various teams, including Delivery, Product, Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Security, to ensure that the product meets the highest standards of quality and functionality. As the owner of a critical software product or project, the Product Owner will oversee the entire lifecycle from inception to delivery, ensuring that all deliverables align with best practices and the company's technology vision. In this role, the Product Owner will work closely with the product manager to understand customer expectations and business values for platform features. They will develop a feature-based roadmap, set objectives and milestones, and coordinate communications between the scrum team and stakeholders. The Product Owner will write epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria, manage the backlog, and provide guidance during sprint planning. They will also be responsible for reviewing user story completion and managing risks associated with the project. The Product Owner is expected to leverage tools such as JIRA and Confluence to provide metrics and reports for effective project management. Additionally, the Product Owner will lead, coach, and mentor other product analysts, fostering a culture of innovation within the team. Staying current with industry trends is essential to advise on solution approaches that meet the evolving needs of the business. This role also involves financial responsibilities, including managing resources and understanding the cost implications of technology solutions, ensuring that expenditures align with business objectives.
