About the position

The IT Program and Project Manager role is designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic work environments where Information Technology (IT) is integral to the mission. As a project manager, you will engage with various aspects of the organization, from nurturing client relationships to contributing to organizational development and team success. In this role, you will be responsible for translating overarching program objectives into actionable project plans. You will work closely with clients to ensure that tasks are managed efficiently and effectively. Your role will involve empowering clients through clear communication, ensuring that the program meets its goals and adheres to quality standards. You will engage with clients to gather, understand, and define their IT requirements, analyze these requirements, and translate them into detailed project plans and milestones. Additionally, you will create realistic resource-loaded schedules to manage and report on project progress, and you will be responsible for writing and delivering executive-level communications and briefings. Responsibilities

  • Translate larger program goals into well-designed project plans.
  • Assist clients in developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage tasks effectively to ensure project success.
  • Empower clients through effective communication.
  • Engage with clients to collect, understand, and define their IT requirements.
  • Analyze and translate IT requirements into project plans and milestones.
  • Create realistic resource-loaded schedules to manage and report progress.
  • Write and deliver executive leadership level communications and briefings.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in DoD Program Management and Acquisition Management for ACAT programs across the acquisition life cycle.
  • Experience with planning, scheduling, coordinating, and delivering IT projects.
  • Experience with Agile software project management tools, including ServiceNow, Jira, or Confluence.
  • Knowledge of project and program management practices in a Navy or USMC setting.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal direction, and help lead a team.
  • Ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve risks and conflicts across workstreams.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the development and writing of Performance Work Statements (PWS) or Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Experience supporting the review of vendor proposals within identified service areas.
  • Knowledge of vendor management to ensure that vendors, contracts, and Service Level Agreements are aligned.
  • SAFe Program Consultant Certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • ITIL foundations Certification.
