About the position

The IT Program Manager is responsible for managing a program of multiple interdependent projects within the Information Technology department. This role provides a single point of accountability for the program, overseeing all aspects throughout the project lifecycles to ensure completion within defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints. The IT Program Manager leads multi-disciplinary teams and ensures accurate resource allocation while driving program success and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Creates and implements program definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for multiple interdependent projects.
• Prepares detailed statements of work and gains concurrence and approval from stakeholders regarding various project aspects.
• Participates in delivery assurance reviews to ensure adherence to project management policies and procedures.
• Manages and oversees the organization and performance of certain functional areas and the activities of principals, advisors, and team members.
• Provides staff management and guidance following established company policies and procedures.
• Manages and ensures delivery of projects/programs to meet client and company expectations and needs.
• Creates, recommends, and implements project/program improvements to meet established objectives.
• Participates with senior management in developing new business proposals.
• Assists in the development of operating and personnel budgets and monitors spending for adherence to budget plans.
• Coordinates and communicates with other managers to leverage resources and discuss solutions to problems.
• Develops processes with senior management for leveraging and using resources to meet organizational needs.
• Investigates and resolves matters of significance as appropriate.
• Manages and organizes project and task workloads and selects individuals most qualified for assignments.
• Engages and maintains written and verbal communications with the customer, management, and staff to ensure program delivery on time and within budget.
• Drives the program and projects to identify, resolve, or escalate critical issues/dependencies to ensure successful delivery.
• Capable of getting into technical or functional details of program or project to better understand and help resolve issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Ten (10) years of project management experience; seven (7) years in a Healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience working with a project management methodology.
• Experience working with delivery assurance principles and appropriate procedures relevant to the area.
• Experience with techniques and approaches related to the architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases.
• Experience in IT system implementations and/or system maintenance activities.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
