About the position

The IT Program Manager will support the Regulatory Portfolio for the Counterparty Credit Risk Technology team in the financial industry. This role involves close collaboration with senior business and technology managers, ensuring that project timelines and milestones are met while providing direction and guidance to project managers. The position requires oversight of all projects within the program, proactive management of risks and issues, and consistent communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Regulatory Portfolio for the Counterparty Credit Risk Technology team.
  • Collaborate closely with senior business and technology managers in the New York time zone.
  • Ensure release timelines and milestones are met across all projects within the program.
  • Provide direction and guidance to project managers to ensure project success.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of the program and its projects.
  • Oversee all projects within the program and identify when individual projects may be off track.
  • Identify risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) and manage/report them proactively.
  • Review and publish the weekly status report for the program.
  • Meet consistently with project managers to understand progress and issues across projects and provide necessary support.
  • Prepare materials for weekly status reporting and present to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Flexible, hardworking, and 'can do' attitude; comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent release cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with a multi-disciplined team across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Strong ownership and follow-through on tasks.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with scaled agile delivery principles, PI planning, and agile scrum methodology.
  • Ability to remove obstacles and influence others to move projects forward.
  • Strong financial markets product knowledge across any asset class.
  • Excellent technical skills including SQL, MS Excel, Jira, MS Project, SharePoint, Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Computer Engineering or Financial degree.
  • Background in working closely with development teams.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with VaR and Risk Analytics.
  • Exposure to financial/product control functions within a bank.
  • Exposure to Program Project Risk Tool (PPRT).
