About the position

The IT Project Analyst 2 in the Collections Enforcement Section of the Ohio Attorney General's Office is responsible for independently managing small to medium IT projects and assisting higher-level project analysts and managers. This role involves evaluating current systems, developing project plans, conducting interviews for data analysis, and ensuring the successful implementation of technology solutions. The position requires a hybrid work schedule and focuses on improving business processes through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Manages small to medium projects by evaluating and analyzing current systems to determine potential for streamlining or reengineering business processes.
  • Develops project plan; creates documents that detail client requirements, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
  • Conducts agency wide and section level interviews to obtain and analyze data necessary for information technology development.
  • Determines requirements definition phase which serves as foundation for system design, development, and implementation phases of the project.
  • Builds foundation for system design, development, and implementation.
  • Formulates and communicates project information to team(s), including recommendations/solutions to complex business problems, target dates for deliverables, and project timelines.
  • Defines constraints within which solutions must be developed and identifies risks and impact of project on client/agency.
  • Anticipates benefits resulting from recommendations for changes to processes and procedures.
  • Creates documents that detail client requirements, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
  • Plans, creates, and executes tests from project requirements (e.g., system test, integration test, performance test, regression test, user acceptance testing).
  • Performs validation of solutions by analyzing end product and specification requirements.
  • Assists with design, documentation, and tracking quality checks for efficiency and quality of business operations.
  • Assists client with data conversion and implementation of new system to include functional documentation of system.
  • Develops training program(s) and conducts training for end users.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in IT or related field of study; 2 years' experience in position with experience commensurate to duties appearing in job posting/approved position description.
  • Or 12 months experience IT Project Analyst 1, 64121AG.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Nice-to-haves

  • 12 months experience writing and executing user acceptance testing
  • 12 months experience documenting user requirements
  • 12 months experience as a Business Process Analyst or Scrum Product Owner
