About the position

The IT Project Analyst/Manager at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will provide expert advice on research projects focusing on telepresence, virtual and augmented reality, computer vision, and related fields, particularly in medical and human-centric applications. This part-time, temporary position is designed for individuals with a strong background in IT project management and technical project management, aiming to contribute to innovative research initiatives within the Department of Computer Science.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on research projects in telepresence, virtual and augmented reality, and computer vision.
• Focus on medical and human-centric applications in project management.
• Collaborate with faculty and researchers across various disciplines.
• Assist in the management of research grant proposals and scientific publishing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field; or a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a closely related field with one year of IT project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master of Science in Computer Science is required.
• Experience in real-time graphical and vision computing, both hardware and software.

Nice-to-haves

• 10 years of academic experience in relevant domains.
• 10 years of related industry experience.
• Considerable experience in scientific publication, with 20 or more co-authored publications in top conferences or journals.
