About the position

IDR is seeking a GIS Analyst to join one of our top clients in the Nashville, TN area for a 6 month contract with the potential for hire. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a close-knit, continuously growing, and collaborative team. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for implementing Esri configured solutions in Portal and ArcGIS Online, working closely with end users to understand their needs and provide effective GIS solutions. The role involves conducting use-case analysis of business functions to identify GIS application requirements, technical issues, and training needs. The GIS Analyst will communicate with both internal and external technical resources to resolve end-user issues and provide guidance on methods for correcting problems. A significant part of the job will involve using various spatial editing techniques to accurately create and update a wide array of GIS datasets. The analyst will also participate in compatibility testing of application upgrades, which includes planning, development, user testing, and implementation of GIS web applications and desktop extensions to ensure they keep pace with the current platform version. Quality control processes on GIS data and attribute information will be a critical responsibility, along with preparing technical documentation that includes data specifications, user requirements, and procedures. The GIS Analyst will produce maps that show the spatial distribution of various kinds of data and generate reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations. Additionally, the role requires performing spatial analysis of both vector and raster datasets and conducting in-house training while tracking progress on system implementation and application projects. A solid understanding of the data, functions, and tasks that the GIS applications will support is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with ArcGIS Pro
  • Knowledge of configuring ArcGIS Solutions including web apps and dashboards
  • Considerable problem solving and troubleshooting skills
