About the position

The IT Project Coordinator at MHD Communications is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing IT projects, ensuring effective communication with clients and team members, and managing project timelines, resources, and budgets. This position serves as the ultimate escalation point for operations, requiring expertise in IT support and project management to resolve complex issues efficiently. The coordinator will also assist in training technicians and contribute to the overall growth and scalability of the IT team.

Responsibilities

  • Devises and works with Leadership to establish policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
  • Maintain communication with the entire IT Project Team, IT Triage Dispatch, the Client Relations Manager, and COO.
  • Provide excellent customer service before, during, and after each assigned project.
  • Set meetings, timelines, and schedules to reflect successful deployments on the Project Board and Engineering Service Boards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and departments to determine and define project scope and objectives.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Oversee day-to-day project operations.
  • Participate in logistics planning for personnel and equipment, including monitoring procurement of materials for timely installation and travel coordination for out-of-town projects.
  • Read floor plans, circuit schematics, and manufacturer's technical instructions.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout project execution.
  • Track project costs to meet budget.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Provide project updates consistently to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Monitor progress and adjust as needed.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations, or new systems for internal usage.
  • Provide guidance for the team and set, monitor, and facilitate goals.
  • Reinforce company values, culture, and goals.
  • Assist in the hiring process for the IT Team by reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and making requests to HR.
  • Assist in company scalability and metric analysis.
  • Work with COO to address and document employee issues.
  • Continue to learn new systems, technologies, and/or procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of IT support experience (some MSP experience preferred).
  • Intermediate administrative and technical knowledge of wired and wireless Ethernet networks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems and networking hardware and their administration.
  • Ability to create written instructions (SOPs) and other technical documentation.
  • Understanding of workstations, printers, servers, and VOIP systems.
  • Expert knowledge of different WAN technologies.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Critical thinking and detail-oriented mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in relevant IT fields are encouraged but not required.
