About the position

The IT Project Engineer at Stringfellow Technology Group is responsible for planning and executing IT projects, ensuring they are completed within established timelines and meet client expectations. The role requires a detail-oriented IT professional with a strong background in project execution, technical problem-solving, and client service. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and clients to implement solutions effectively while adhering to the company's core values of proactivity, thoroughness, reliability, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT project planning and execution, working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth implementations.
  • Formulate realistic parameters for each project, including design elements, time estimates, implementation procedures, and Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Ensure timeliness of ticket submissions, escalations, required actions, and associated notifications.
  • Create and distribute documentation to technical staff for all modified and new systems.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and provide superior client service in all circumstances.
  • Correctly configure and troubleshoot servers, networks, wireless access and customer applications.
  • Perform assigned project tasks and in some cases lead projects.
  • Leading technical project tasks and deliverables to onboard new clients.
  • Level 3+ support for service desk escalations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited program or relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT systems or network administration.
  • 3+ years of IT project work, including Microsoft cloud, email, and server migrations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Experience building out from scratch servers, storage, networks and firewalls.
  • Knowledge and experience with Local Active Directory and Microsoft Azure AD/Entra ID.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
  • CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fluid work environment managing multiple tasks and priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven expertise in the implementation of enterprise systems, applications, and related products.
  • Experience with ConnectWise Manage and ConnectWise Automate.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP 4.0 and 6, IP routing, subnetting, endpoint security, Site-to-Site VPN, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
  • Familiarity with core virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMWare, iSCSI SANS).
  • Expertise with SonicWall, Meraki devices, and other managed network devices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Entra-ID identity and access management.
  • Knowledge of RingCentral and Microsoft Teams VoIP.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in user-friendly language.
  • CompTIA Cloud+ or Security+ certifications.
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications (M365 Fundamentals, M365 Administration, Entra ID for identity and access administration).
