The IT Project Management Associate at Baylor College of Medicine will report directly to the Executive Director of Research and Data Technology within the Office of Information Technology. This role is pivotal in leveraging data, informatics, and project management expertise to oversee project management and implementation activities. The responsibilities include project planning, defining project scope, financial justifications, vendor selections, resource management, and scheduling for complex enterprise-wide IT projects. The ideal candidate will possess significant technical hands-on experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and a solid background in project management. In this position, the successful applicant will be expected to quickly brainstorm and develop reporting and analytics solutions using the BI stack/tools for various stakeholders. The team is primarily based in Houston, Texas, with many members working remotely. While regular travel to the regional campus is not anticipated, occasional site visits may be required based on project needs. The candidate should have demonstrated hands-on technical experience working with data and leading data and analytics-related projects, ensuring that they can effectively contribute to the team's objectives. The role involves collaborating with project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members to clarify project scope and vision. The associate will identify project stakeholders, clarify deliverables, and establish timelines. They will also contribute to the development, maintenance, and support of the data warehouse, which includes data ETL, API design and build, and data modeling to enhance the enterprise data warehouse. The associate will support and lead initiatives related to the Research and Data Technology team, working closely with team members to deliver planned solutions, products, and services. Additionally, the associate will develop and maintain project plans and related artifacts that cover the status and progress of the project, including budget, timeline, and resource allocation. They will manage efforts between various stakeholders, coordinate project activities, assign tasks, and provide guidance to personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of the project. Gathering business requirements and assessing stakeholder information needs will be crucial, as will facilitating the delivery of informatics solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data models. The associate will also take on hands-on development tasks and recommend best practices and methodologies related to data applications and systems.
