About the position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Project Manager 2 (Part Time) with a TOP SECRET clearance and a minimum of 5 years of management experience to support our US Government client's innovative IT network and web applications at China Lake, CA. As a Project Manager 2, you will lead, motivate, and manage project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. In your daily responsibilities, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, translating their needs into actionable feature requirements. You will develop and maintain departmental procedures, standards, and guidelines for provisioning bare metal and virtual systems. Your role will involve managing projects related to web-based applications, utilizing PMBOK, AGILE, and SCRUM methodologies. You will create detailed project plans that include timelines, milestones, resources, budgets, and risk assessments. Collaboration with designers, developers, and QA teams will be essential to ensure project requirements are understood and met. Additionally, you will conduct research, installation, testing, and evaluation of hardware and software within security boundaries, implement and manage change processes across all layers of the stack, and manage stakeholder expectations through regular updates and strategic advisory. You will also be responsible for identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies, monitoring project progress, and making necessary adjustments to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery. Understanding and implementing cybersecurity measures and protocols will be crucial, as well as leveraging CI devices utilizing hardware, network, and application virtualization. You will coordinate with QA teams to track and resolve bugs and issues, create comprehensive project documentation, and prepare and present detailed project reports and dashboards to senior management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in IT project management.
  • TOP SECRET security clearance is required.
  • Experience with PMBOK, AGILE, and SCRUM methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop detailed project plans and manage project budgets.
  • Experience in managing web-based application projects.
