About the position

The IT Project Manager 2 position at the Ohio Office of Budget and Management (OBM) is responsible for leading projects related to the PeopleSoft Financials system, specifically focusing on the Accounts Payable (AP) module. This role involves providing functional support, technical guidance, and project management for modifications and enhancements to the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS) Financials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PeopleSoft technologies and project management, contributing to the overall success of the agency's financial management services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects for modifications and enhancements to the OAKS system.
  • Provide functional support to the PeopleSoft Financials Functional team with strong Accounts Payable (AP) skills.
  • Provide technical guidance to business owners regarding the modification, enhancement, and management of assigned modules.
  • Manage all phases of project management for the Requirements and Configuration Management team related to the Accounts Payable (AP) module.
  • Direct teams or workstreams to contribute to overall project success.
  • Cultivate business and vendor relationships with varying audiences.
  • Create new solutions to customize applications for improved system processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis for help desk cases related to system problems or transactional issues.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of 2 years of post-secondary education in a relevant field (business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health) with 12 months of experience in budgeting and project management.
  • 4 years of experience in project management with budgeting experience.
  • 12 months of experience as Project Manager 1 or IT Project Manager 1.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PeopleSoft technologies (People tools, PeopleCode, SQL, Application Designer, Application Messaging).
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail skills.
