About the position

The IT Project Manager 3 is a lead position responsible for overseeing a project team that delivers high-quality technical solutions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This role involves managing project work, budgets, and risks while ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to interact with various stakeholders and to provide strategic direction on IT industry trends, all while aligning with the mission of the Church.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day technical project work of the team.
  • Manages and forecasts budgets and risks.
  • Develops and executes project plans to ensure timely delivery of all deliverables with high quality.
  • Generates weekly reports with metrics showing the status of each project.
  • Aligns and follows standard processes to assure quality and consistency of the product.
  • Ensures IT risks are identified and appropriately addressed.
  • Addresses complex problems and escalates them as necessary.
  • Communicates with all levels of management to influence decisions for project success.
  • Provides leadership and strategy on IT industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Eight years of experience in Technical Project Management or Technology Management.
  • Strong technology background with understanding of IT industry best practices for Project Management and software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining productive working relationships.
  • Proven success in leading multiple teams in a complex matrix organization.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate team leadership and project planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a global IT organization.
  • Scrum certifications.
  • Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and assist with product delivery tasks.
