About the position

GDH Consulting is seeking a highly skilled IT Project Manager to oversee two critical system replacement projects: the Message Switch System (MSS) Replacement and the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) Modernization. This role is essential for ensuring the effective exchange of information between state and federal agencies and maintaining a comprehensive repository of criminal history data. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of these projects, which are based on a 30-month contract with potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT project management for the MSS Replacement and CCH Modernization projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate project activities, including scope, timelines, requirements, deliverables, tasks, risks, issues, changes, and testing.
  • Maintain high-quality standards for all project documentation and adhere to established IT project management frameworks.
  • Facilitate effective communication across cross-functional teams, including IT operations, Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) business unit partners, and vendor partners.
  • Identify and escalate issues promptly, making decisions as appropriate to ensure project success.
  • Ensure the coordination, integration, security, and uptime of the systems involved in the projects.
  • Adhere to agency policies and support the mission and values of the organization through diligent project management practices.
  • Participate in continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance project management skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in any major or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of project management experience, preferably in IT or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of and proficiency in project management processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for professional document writing, email communication, and leading meetings.
  • Knowledge of general IT principles and technologies to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to build rapport and maintain trust across various stakeholders and team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum preferred.
  • Experience managing projects with extended duration and multiple technologies/functions is highly desirable.
