About the position

The Project Manager oversees and ensures the successful delivery and management of multiple IT projects within the Northeast Georgia Health System. This role involves utilizing various PMO tools to develop project scope, create plans, manage resources, and communicate progress to stakeholders. The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management, including risk assessment, resource planning, and vendor coordination, while ensuring operational readiness and effective implementation of projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage multiple IT projects and sub-projects.
• Develop project scope and charter using PMO tools.
• Create project plans and assign/manage resources.
• Communicate project status and progress to leaders and project teams.
• Assess project risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Coordinate vendor and third-party service provider activities.
• Facilitate meetings and secure resources for project activities.
• Provide project status reports and risk assessments to management.
• Develop and track project budgets and report on variances.
• Mentor and provide project management leadership to team members.

Requirements

• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required or to be achieved within one year of employment.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Four (4) years of IT project management experience required.
• Experience with project management software/PPM tools and business process design.
• Healthcare IT experience in technical system implementations, operations, or delivery required.

Nice-to-haves

• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, five (5) years of healthcare project management experience may be considered.
