About the position

The IT Project Manager (Cloud) position at the US Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management involves leading and managing IT projects, particularly those related to cloud architecture and services. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure project deliverables align with the Department of Labor's Systems Development Life Cycle processes. The selected candidate will be responsible for project planning, resource management, risk assessment, and quality control, while also contributing to long-term strategic planning within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, organize, plan, and manage the ongoing activities of a solutions development team.
  • Participate fully with other managers in overall project management initiation and integration across the OCIO.
  • Serve as a key member of the senior planning staff for the OCIO, contributing to long and short-range planning and program development.
  • Work with stakeholders to conduct project scope planning and verify the sum of products and services provided.
  • Plan and develop project network diagrams for critical path analysis, scheduling, resource identification, risk management, and quality control.
  • Manage all IT projects according to the department's investment management program, including tracking performance and managing changes.
  • Conduct contract and administrative closeout activities upon completion of IT project efforts.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and at least 16 years old.
  • Experience providing IT project management oversight and technical advice for complex IT projects.
  • Experience in cloud architecture design and new cloud native technologies, tools, protocols, and services.
  • Experience in financial management of cloud services including estimating, billing, invoice, funding, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated competencies in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in change management and release scheduling.
  • Familiarity with DOL Systems Development Life Cycle processes.
