About the position

Arena Investors, LP is seeking a hands-on IT Project Manager to lead vendor system integrations and proprietary software development within an agile SDLC framework. This role is crucial for driving projects from inception to completion while collaborating closely with business units in portfolio management, risk, and trading operations. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new business unit that is expected to be a significant growth driver for the firm over the next five years.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with senior stakeholders, including Portfolio Management, Trade Operations, and Fund Accounting to define project requirements and priorities.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, including IT staff, third-party vendors, and consultants, to ensure projects are properly staffed and delivered on time.
  • Develop and drive project plans and resource allocation; Coordinate SCRUM-based SDLC process with the development teams and technology vendors.
  • Direct business analyst team as they translate financial models and reports into technical specifications. Collaborate with business analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years project management experience, preferably in investment management, FinTech and/or pure-play software development domains.
  • Proven track record delivering complex IT projects within budget and on time.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and tools (JIRA, MS Project, Trello, etc.).
  • Experience with investment management platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, CapIQ, Broadridge, Sentry PM, RiskMetrics, Geneva, IVP Recon, etc) a big plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) and IT infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to IT in financial services (e.g., GDPR, MiFID II, SEC rules).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Agile/Scrum) are highly desirable.
  • Experience in consulting firm preferred.
