About the position

The IT Project Manager will oversee multiple high-risk projects within the cruise line industry, specifically focusing on shipboard deployments. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage project schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communications while ensuring successful project implementations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and own multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the project schedule and plan.
• Manage scope, timeline, and budget for projects, holding others accountable.
• Identify key issues, risks, and mitigation plans, driving to resolution.
• Escalate issues to Senior Management as required.
• Provide leadership and direction to the project team, managing cross-team dependencies.
• Act as a day-to-day liaison with project stakeholders and technical teams.
• Conduct effective meetings to ensure project objectives are met.
• Report on project status to increase visibility and proactive monitoring.
• Coordinate the preparation of requests for proposals and participate in vendor selection and contract negotiation.
• Manage vendors participating in the project to ensure contract fulfillment.

Requirements

• Experience working with shipboard deployments.
• Experience managing high-dollar, high-risk projects.
• Broad knowledge of various technology solutions including Custom Software Development, SaaS, COTS, and Cloud.
• Familiarity with Windows and Unix operating systems.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare.
• Knowledge of databases such as Oracle and MS SQL.
• Experience with storage technologies like Dell Compellent, EMC VNX/Unity/Vmax, and Veritas Netbackup.
• Understanding of networking devices such as core switches, wireless controllers, and satellite networks.
