About the position

The IT Project Manager for Data Center Operations is responsible for overseeing IT project management duties within large data center environments, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of technical aspects in an Agile context, as well as effective communication with stakeholders and team members. The position involves managing project deliverables, defining project scope, and maintaining a product backlog while collaborating with internal and external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of IT project management duties in large data center environments.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Understand technical aspects of projects within an Agile context.
  • Monitor project deliverables and milestones according to the project plan.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a well-defined product backlog.
  • Ensure timely delivery of prioritized features.
  • Manage IT procurements, budget, forecasts, and analysis for different projects.
  • Work closely with internal and external vendors to meet operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Solid experience migrating an on-premise data center to Cloud Services (AWS preferred).
  • Expert level planning, documenting, and identifying project goals and tasks.
  • Effective leadership, organization, and time management skills.
  • Expert at communicating with stakeholders to eliminate blockers and potential risks.
  • Champion Agile principles and practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Experience working on government fiscal and budget management supporting data centers.
  • Experience with senior level leadership reporting and communication.
  • Familiar with various levels of reporting tools.
  • Experience using Remedy, ITSM, PPM, Archer, Jira, and ServiceNow.
  • Experience preparing and tracking security exemption requests.
