About the position

Powder River Industries, LLC is seeking an IT Project Manager to oversee and manage various information technology projects that provide unique services or products. The company specializes in technical services across the entire system development life cycle (SDLC), ensuring complete end-to-end system management for customer mission systems. This includes managing a data center, integrated logistics support, continuity of operations (COOP), and disaster recovery. As a subcontractor, the company provides a range of services including DevSecOps, software development, network administration, systems analysis, database administration, storage engineering, hardware engineering, and Tier 1 to Tier 3 support in traditional data center environments, as well as cloud and hybrid cloud environments. The cloud platforms currently in use include AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle. In this role, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for directly managing multiple IT projects simultaneously. This includes facilitating the definition of project scope, goals, resource requirements, tasks, and deliverables. The manager will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and continuously monitor and summarize project progress for presentation to management and project teams. Regular reporting on project progress, challenges, and solutions will be a key part of the role. The IT Project Manager will also implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project goals, conduct evaluations, and assess project results. The position requires assembling and coordinating project staff, leading and managing project teams composed of representatives from various groups, and ensuring that projects are taken from inception through to completion. Additionally, the manager will oversee project budgets and resource allocation, plan and schedule project timelines, and track deliverables using appropriate tools. Providing direction and support to project teams, as well as overseeing and reviewing outside consultants for specific assignments, will also be part of the responsibilities. The IT Project Manager will review and approve consultant invoices related to specific project requirements, ensuring that all aspects of the project are managed effectively and efficiently.
