About the position

The City of Greeley is seeking an IT Project Manager to join the Office of Project Management within the High Performance Government department. This full-time, term-limited position is responsible for coordinating the planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines, budgets, and resource management. The role involves collaboration with various internal departments and external contractors to achieve project goals and objectives, while overseeing quality control throughout the project life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning and execution of IT projects while maintaining strict deadlines, resources, and budgets.
  • Define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.
  • Acquire and collaborate with resources from various internal departments and coordinate external contractor resources as needed.
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Identify, track, manage, and mitigate project risks in collaboration with the project team.
  • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines, budget, resources, and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations throughout the project life cycle.
  • Conduct project postmortems and create recommendations to improve unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for managing individual projects and the portfolio of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or specialized technical training or certification of equivalent scope or program length.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in a project management or equivalent role.
  • Project Management experience on large software integration projects.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, processes, principles, and best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMI or equivalent Project Management Certification
  • Strong familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of change management methodologies, tools, processes, principles, and best practices.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $108,400 - $157,200 annually
  • Benefit eligible position with access to a benefits guide.
