About the position

The IT Project Manager I position is designed to lead basic project segments and ensure the attainment of deliverables from both vendors and CYFD personnel. This role is crucial for facilitating the transition of the new Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) solution from maintenance and operations to a cloud-based case management system. The Project Manager I will work closely with CYFD staff and divisional stakeholders to ensure project compliance and successful execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project initiation activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, defining scope and performance metrics, and developing the business case and project charter.
  • Perform project planning activities including alternative analysis, feasibility study, and finalizing project plans, resource plans, and risk management plans.
  • Track and record project task planning and completion as directed by overall project leadership.
  • Manage project execution and performance according to developed plans, including status reporting for time, budget, and percent complete.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts, performing root cause analysis and recommending data-driven solutions.
  • Oversee project close-out activities, including transition, lessons learned, and artifact archival.
  • Write and present project status, progress, and budget updates to departmental leadership and governance organizations.
  • Facilitate inter-divisional communication to promote change management and ensure sustained business value.

Requirements

  • Experience in project management, particularly in IT or software development projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in leading project teams and managing project deliverables.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with cloud-based case management systems.
  • Knowledge of child welfare information systems and regulations.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
