About the position

The IT Project Manager I at Tarrant County College is responsible for leading and managing IT projects from initiation to closure. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure projects align with organizational goals, managing project resources, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Defines project scope, objectives, and deliverables, aligning with strategic goals
  • Creates detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Leads project teams to ensure task completion according to schedule
  • Monitors and adjusts project progress to meet deadlines and budget constraints
  • Maintains consistent communication with stakeholders, managing expectations and providing status updates
  • Implements quality control processes to ensure deliverable compliance with standards
  • Leads change management for smooth transition of new systems, addressing resistance and fostering adoption
  • Manages project documentation, resource allocation, and vendor relationships, ensuring quality and strategic alignment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One (1) year's working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
  • Current certification in project management or business analysis, such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project+, or Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA)
  • Current Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4 certification

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies (such as Agile and Waterfall), and best practices
  • Knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure relevant to the projects managed
  • Skilled in budgeting and financial management, ensuring projects stay within financial constraints
