About the position

The IT Project Manager I at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is responsible for managing project teams that fulfill various IT-related projects, including DevOps, Student Success, and Finance initiatives. This role involves liaising with the Project Management Office (PMO) to implement project management processes, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. The position also includes managing a student recruitment CRM platform and coordinating with vendors to execute projects according to established agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project teams responsible for fulfilling DevOps, Student Success, Finance, and campus projects.
  • Manage the student recruitment CRM platform.
  • Liaise with PMO to establish and implement project management processes and methodologies.
  • Ensure projects meet scope requirements, are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to quality standards.
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure projects are executed according to Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Set project goals and develop plans to meet those goals.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, budget tracking, status reports, risk assessments, and issues lists.
  • Coordinate internal and external project team members, developing schedules and individual responsibilities.
  • Organize meetings to discuss project goals and processes with stakeholders and project team members.
  • Oversee development and execution of project communication plans.
  • Manage project resources such as computer equipment.
  • Ensure projects align with IT initiatives.
  • Assist leadership with the development of long-term plans, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (will consider seven years related education/experience).
  • 3 years of proven experience in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) role.
  • Understanding of complex data structures and project management.
  • Proven experience in managing moderately complex projects.
  • Experience managing project deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Experience building project plans and understanding requirements gathering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CRM, SQL, Query/Reporting Tools, and Project Management Tools.
