About the position

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the implementation of public transportation technology projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on schedule. This role involves managing project objectives, quality control, and stakeholder communications while fostering a culture of problem resolution. You will play a crucial role in preventing scope creep and maintaining project integrity throughout its lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, monitor, and maintain project documentation including schedules, project charters, communication plans, risk registers, and budget status reports.
  • Manage transportation technology projects in alignment with organizational goals and strategies.
  • Advise supervisors on project implementation approaches.
  • Coordinate stakeholder communications, project contracts, and meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to consultants and guide their work.
  • Prepare and recommend functional and technical information for decision-makers.
  • Manage the integration of new technologies with existing systems.
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders and provide frequent updates.
  • Document essential project elements to memorialize key milestones and decisions.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of professional experience in project management or a related field, including managing technology projects.
  • Experience in organizing, presenting, facilitating, and negotiating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Quality assurance experience and coordination with staff and contractors in program development and implementation.
  • Experience managing complex projects from planning through implementation, including contract administration.
  • A Bachelor's degree in project management, information technology, or a closely related field can substitute for 2 years of experience; an Associate degree can substitute for 1 year.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Certification.
  • Transit industry or public sector experience.
  • Knowledge of transit business and policies related to passenger information systems and customer service practices.
  • Familiarity with public agency policies and procedures.
