About the position

The IT Project Manager II role at MicroAge involves overseeing the delivery of integrated IT solutions while managing resources, schedules, and budgets. This position requires strong project management skills, particularly in IT environments, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders. The role is hybrid, allowing for both in-office and remote work, and focuses on delivering projects within defined constraints while ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engagements within the constraints of schedule, features/functionality, and budget
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of an integrated solution composed of products, services, or formalized offerings
  • Manage MicroAge resources, partners, and customer resources/materials used to complete project tasks
  • Maintain the Master Project Plan/Schedule and the Communication Plan
  • Monitor project health relative to resources, schedule, and features
  • Reconcile actual versus planned performance, analyze variances, and take corrective actions
  • Create, publish, and review project status reports with stakeholders
  • Conduct post-implementation lessons learned
  • Follow documented procedures for delivery process
  • Document technical conversations and publish meeting notes with action items
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans
  • Provide guidance to project resources and ensure effective change management

Requirements

  • 4 years of managing IT projects independently
  • Background in VAR or MSP environment highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management Certification e.g., PMP preferred
  • Experience leading successful implementation of medium to large scale Microsoft, networking, and cybersecurity projects
  • Experience creating project plans with input from subject matter experts
  • Experience running technical meetings and publishing project status reports
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Familiarity with Microsoft, VMware, Networking, and ConnectWise is a big plus

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a VAR or MSP environment
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with ConnectWise
