About the position

As an IT Project Manager II at Centene Corporation, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing all aspects of technology projects aimed at improving health outcomes for our 28 million members. This position is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget, while also managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing, vendors, and contractual deliverables. You will develop detailed project plans, monitor project milestones, and generate periodic status reports to keep stakeholders informed of progress. Evaluating and managing risks is a key part of your role, as is incorporating quality measures and standards into project deliverables. In this position, you will manage multiple small to medium-sized projects, working closely with project stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans that align with allocated time and budget. Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, third parties, and vendors is essential to ensure effective coordination with internal resources. You will create, build, and update project schedules, project charters, status reports, and work breakdown structures, while also setting priorities, defining dependencies, and scheduling activities. Tracking and reporting on financial data, performance, and the status of multiple projects will be a regular part of your responsibilities. You will leverage project management tools and techniques to continually review and make recommendations to ensure adequate resource availability. Effective communication with team members and stakeholders is vital, and you will utilize Project Management Office project update methods to keep everyone informed. Identifying key project risks and managing them to ensure the delivery of business goals is a critical aspect of your role. You will also facilitate the resolution of project-related conflicts and ensure that necessary corrective actions are taken. Adherence to corporate operational standards and processes is expected, and you will ensure proper project closure, including documenting lessons learned. Additionally, you will perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 - 4 years of related experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Project Management tools.
  • Knowledge of Agile Software Development and Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience in Data Center/Core Infrastructure technology build-out and deployments.
  • Familiarity with security build-out/deployments and ServiceNow PPM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven track record of Data Center/Core Infrastructure technology build-out and deployments.
  • Experience with security build-out/deployments such as Akamai and CrowdStrike Falcon.
  • Familiarity with Hybrid Waterfall deployment methodology.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with enterprise-level deployment experience.
