About the position

GCI's IT Project Manager III is responsible for leading multiple concurrent IT projects to successful completion. This role involves providing overall direction for technology development and vendor solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The position requires expertise in various project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, and covers a wide range of IT solutions, including website development, UX design, mobile applications, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple concurrent IT projects to completion.
  • Provide overall direction for technology development and vendor solutions.
  • Analyze variances, highlight risks, and verify project solution requirements.
  • Manage project initiation, assessment, vendor management, and business case development.
  • Develop and maintain project milestones, schedules, budgets, and overall project health status.
  • Oversee and manage a disciplined project team of technical teams, business units, contractors, and vendors.
  • Foster high-performing team dynamics and assist teams in self-organization.
  • Remove impediments and ensure proper communication and coordination across teams.
  • Adhere to project management processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in IT, Management, Business, Accounting, Compliance, Audit, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of project management experience, including at least three (3) years in IT.
  • Proven track record of successful project management using SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience in managing projects related to website development, UX design, mobile apps, and telecom systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Telecommunications experience.
  • Experience in business, accounting, audit, compliance, or technical processes.
  • Understanding of Agile techniques such as User Stories and Continuous Integration.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Release Train Engineer.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Trello.
