Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Technical Project Manager III to join our team in Seattle, WA. This is a senior-level position responsible for managing multiple IT projects concurrently, coordinating IT intake, project resourcing, and facilitating cross-functional work efforts within the IT department. The Technical Project Manager will oversee the IT portfolio of work and communicate resource needs between IT and the business. This role requires a strong background in project management, agile methodology, portfolio management, and business analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership across IT, Enterprise Project Management, and organizational leaders to ensure alignment with the organization's strategic goals. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects as assigned by the manager. You will develop project charters, define project goals, deliverables, and scope, and identify project risks while developing mitigation plans. You will also maintain project documentation and ensure project governance. Additionally, you will track the volume of requests for the IT department and develop methods to maintain visibility of the IT portfolio of projects in all phases. Collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams is essential, as you will interact with various levels of staff, alliance partners, and affiliated organizations. Effective communication is a key component of this role. You will utilize your written and oral communication skills to facilitate meetings, create clear project documents, and provide status updates to sponsors and stakeholders. Flexibility is crucial, as you will manage multiple projects in varied environments and adapt to different project needs and constraints. You will also strive to continuously build knowledge and skills in Technical Project Management and stay knowledgeable in applicable areas of expertise, including Business Analysis and Business Process Improvement Methodologies. Leadership skills are essential, as you will influence actions and opinions of others and work as a partner with the organization's leadership to achieve solutions.
