About the position

The IT Project Manager III at GCI is responsible for leading multiple concurrent IT projects to successful completion. This role involves providing overall direction for technology and development components, utilizing various project management methodologies. The manager will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while analyzing variances and highlighting risks and issues. The position requires a strong background in project management, particularly in IT and vendor solution development, and the ability to manage diverse project teams effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple concurrent IT projects to completion.
  • Provide overall direction for technology and development components.
  • Align projects covering a wide range of IT and IT vendor solution development.
  • Analyze variances, highlight risks, issues, and changes in projects.
  • Verify project solution requirements are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Manage a disciplined project team of technical teams, business units, contractors, and vendors.
  • Define project scope and prioritization, and manage procurement of resources.
  • Develop and maintain project milestones, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, and overall project health status.
  • Manage contracts and outside consultants and contractors.
  • Ensure complete communication and documentation of projects in defined formats and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Management, Business, Accounting, Compliance, Audit, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of project management experience, including at least three (3) years in IT.
  • Proven track record of successful project management using methodologies such as SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall.
  • Experience in delivering projects in areas such as website development, UX design, mobile apps, telecom software, and cloud-based solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Telecommunications experience.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Release Train Engineer.
  • Understanding of Agile techniques such as User Stories and Continuous Integration.
  • Experience using Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Trello.
  • Certifications such as PMP, ACP, or ITIL.
