The IT Project Manager/IT Systems Analyst Supervisor at the Montana Department of Justice plays a crucial role in overseeing the Justice Information Technology Services (JITS) team. Regular updates on the Department of Justice's Project & System Support Portfolio will be part of your duties, as well as shaping and implementing the project portfolio strategy. Your guidance and support will be essential for team members, and you will collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to projects. Staying current on industry trends and best practices in IT project management and systems analysis will be vital to your success in this role. You will be supervising project managers and systems analysts, so a strong foundational knowledge of application development, IT infrastructure, and project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Lean will be beneficial. Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple project managers and systems analysts in their IT projects.
  • Maintain collaboration and transparency within the team.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources for projects and applications.
  • Track the Department of Justice's Project & System Support Portfolio and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Shape and implement the project portfolio strategy.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members and collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in IT project management and systems analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or related field.
  • Five years of experience managing projects.
  • Two years of related management experience.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of application development and IT infrastructure.
  • At least 4 years of IT project management experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
  • Professional certifications like PMP are a big plus.
