About the position

The IT Project Manager IV - SAP Implementation position is a contract role based in Bartlesville, OK, focusing on the management of SAP Payroll Implementation projects. The primary objective of this role is to provide comprehensive project management support to enhance project execution and ensure successful delivery of project goals. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with the Project Owner and Leads, ensuring that all PMO processes, playbooks, and established ways of working are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle. This includes the responsibility to promptly escalate any issues or critical risks to project leadership, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the decision-making process. In this role, the Project Manager will be tasked with communicating and coordinating key dependencies and decisions with other project managers within the program. It is essential that these items are visible to project leadership to maintain alignment and transparency. The Project Manager will also be responsible for generating and communicating project updates both internally and externally as required, ensuring that all parties are kept informed of progress and any changes to the project scope or timeline. Additionally, the Project Manager will monitor and manage project financials, providing regular reports to project leadership to ensure that the project remains within budget and on track. This role requires a strong background in managing complex implementations, particularly in the context of ERP/SAP systems, and a deep understanding of payroll processes and policies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in similar roles and will be able to demonstrate their ability to lead teams effectively and drive projects to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall project management support for SAP Payroll Implementation.
  • Collaborate with Project Owner and Leads to enhance project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO processes, playbook, and established ways of working during the project lifecycle.
  • Promptly escalate issues and critical risks to project leadership.
  • Communicate and coordinate key dependencies and decisions with other project managers under the program.
  • Generate and communicate project updates internally and externally as required.
  • Monitor and manage project financials and report to project leadership accordingly.

Requirements

  • PMP Certified
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex implementations
  • Strong experience with business and technical requirement development and management
  • Strong experience with process workflow design
  • Strong experience with use case and test script design
  • Strong experience managing Waterfall projects
  • Strong experience using MS Project
  • Ability to work onsite 4 days a week minimum (no exceptions)

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong experience managing ERP/SAP related implementations
  • Experience with payroll implementations and/or payroll policies/processes
  • Experience with SAP/ERP integrations/implementation
  • Oil and gas industry experience
