About the position

The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing the successful delivery of projects throughout their entire lifecycle. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of project management methodologies and tools, enabling the manager to effectively oversee scope, time, cost, risk, and quality. The Project Manager will create a positive environment that fosters high performance within the team while managing relationships and expectations with stakeholders. This position involves working closely with various business units to identify project drivers, goals, and visions, ultimately ensuring the production of high-quality project deliverables. In addition to project delivery, the IT Project Manager will support the Project Management Office (PMO) by developing tools and project plans, as well as mentoring and training other team members in project management best practices. The role demands strong leadership skills to motivate and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring that all project phases are executed efficiently and effectively. The Project Manager will also be responsible for accurately estimating project scope and defining appropriate delivery methods that align with project goals. This includes providing staff leadership to both internal teams and external consultants, ensuring that all parties are aligned and working towards common objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the successful delivery of projects through the entire project lifecycle.
  • Manage project scope, time, cost, risk, and quality while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Work with business units to determine project drivers, goals, and visions to produce project deliverables.
  • Lead project teams to accurately estimate and scope work, defining appropriate project delivery methods.
  • Provide staff leadership to multi-disciplinary teams and manage the work of outside consultants.
  • Support the Project Management Office (PMO) in developing tools and project plans.
  • Mentor and train others in project management best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in IT or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to manage multi-phased projects and lead diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships and expectations.
  • Experience in estimating project scope and defining delivery methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with Agile project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
