About the position

The IT Project Manager will oversee medium to complex projects within the Medicaid domain, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and expertise in IT project management processes. The position emphasizes communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead medium size, complex projects and multiple small projects, ensuring effective planning and organization of work.
  • Provide day-to-day planning and organization of team activities, demonstrating the ability to multi-task.
  • Facilitate team involvement in resolving difficult technical issues and provide project management leadership on complex projects.
  • Translate and communicate highly technical concepts to both technical personnel and non-IT users.
  • Conduct detailed planning, project testing, and perform risk assessments with associated mitigation actions.
  • Design and manage technical projects using quality assurance practices to ensure timely implementation.
  • Develop reports and graphical presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience leading medium size, complex projects and multiple small projects.
  • 5 years of experience in providing regular day-to-day planning and organizing the work of others.
  • 5 years of experience in IT, particularly with relevant applications and platforms.
  • 5 years of experience in providing project management leadership on complex projects.
  • 5 years of experience in translating and communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • 5 years of knowledge of project management processes, procedures, documentation, and reporting criteria.
  • 5 years of experience in conducting detailed planning, project testing, and risk assessments.
  • 5 years of experience in designing and managing technical projects with quality assurance practices.
  • 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience with Scrum (Preferred)
  • PMP certification (Preferred)
  • Ability to commute to Raleigh, NC 27601 (Preferred)
  • Willingness to relocate to Raleigh, NC 27601 before starting work (Preferred)
