About the position

The IT Project Manager position at PMO Partners, LLC is a remote role focused on managing multiple critical projects for a nonprofit client during a significant transformation initiative. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and a passion for working in a mission-driven organization that supports the education and advancement of PreK-12 students. In this role, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with various stakeholders. They will develop a comprehensive project plan that includes timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies. The PM will also identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects progress smoothly and adhere to established schedules and budgets. Regular communication with stakeholders is essential, as the PM will provide updates on project status, ensuring transparency and alignment across all parties involved. The position requires leading cross-functional teams involved in application and infrastructure projects, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project implementation. The IT Project Manager will also coordinate with external vendors and partners as necessary to achieve project goals. Utilizing Clarity PPM, the PM will manage projects by creating and updating schedules, managing resource allocation, and tracking status and progress through regular reporting and monitoring. Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle in a timely and productive manner.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure adherence to established schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate and communicate project status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams involved in application and infrastructure projects, providing guidance and support.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners, as necessary, to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are executed to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Utilize Clarity PPM to manage projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or a minimum of 8 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organizational transformation/change management experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT or SDLC project management.
  • 3+ years managing IT/Enterprise projects, delivered on-time, meeting client expectations/requirements with high team satisfaction.
  • 2+ years using Microsoft Project or similar project management software tool.
  • Experience reporting out to C-Suite.
  • Experience with a PPM system such as Clarity (preferred) or other PPM tool is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Program management experience a plus.
  • Champion of and highly adept at PMO best practices.
