About the position

The IT Project Manager position at PMO Partners, LLC is a remote role focused on supporting a non-profit client during a significant transformation initiative. This engagement requires an experienced project manager to oversee multiple critical projects aimed at reorganizing the client’s structure to better align with new business strategies. The goal is to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the organization, which is dedicated to the education and advancement of PreK-12 students. The role is not only pivotal in managing projects but also in fostering a mission-driven environment that prioritizes educational outcomes. In this position, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with various stakeholders. A comprehensive project plan will need to be developed, detailing timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies. The project manager will also be tasked with identifying and mitigating risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all projects progress smoothly and adhere to established schedules and budgets. Monitoring project progress is crucial, and the project manager will track milestones while providing regular status updates to stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment. Leading cross-functional teams involved in application and infrastructure projects will be a key responsibility, as will coordinating with external vendors and partners to achieve project goals. Quality assurance processes must be executed to ensure successful project implementation, and the project manager will utilize Clarity PPM to manage all aspects of the projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risks.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle in a timely and productive manner.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure adherence to established schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate and communicate project status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams involved in application and infrastructure projects, providing guidance and support.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners, as necessary, to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are executed to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Utilize Clarity PPM to manage projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field, or a minimum of 8 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organizational transformation/change management experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT or SDLC project management.
  • 3+ years managing IT/Enterprise projects (delivered on-time, meeting client expectations/requirements with high team satisfaction).
  • 2+ years using Microsoft Project or similar project management software tool.
  • Experience reporting out to C-Suite.
  • Experience with a PPM system such as Clarity (preferred) or other PPM tool is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Program management experience a plus.
  • Champion of and highly adept at PMO best practices.
