About the position

Our non-profit client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager for a contract engagement to oversee multiple critical projects during a significant transformation initiative. This role is remote, but the Project Manager must be comfortable with occasional travel for essential project meetings. The organization is undergoing a reorganization aimed at better aligning departments and employees with new business strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This presents an exciting opportunity for someone with strong project management experience who is eager to contribute to a mission-driven organization focused on the education and advancement of PreK-12 students. In this position, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. They will develop a comprehensive project plan that includes timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies. The Project Manager will also identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle in a timely and productive manner. Monitoring project progress, tracking milestones, and ensuring adherence to established schedules and budgets will be key responsibilities. Additionally, the Project Manager will coordinate and communicate project status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project. The role involves leading cross-functional teams involved in application and infrastructure projects, providing guidance and support as needed. The Project Manager will also coordinate with external vendors and partners to achieve project goals and ensure that quality assurance processes are executed to guarantee successful project implementation. Utilizing Clarity PPM to manage projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risks, will be essential, as will creating and updating project schedules, managing resource allocation, and tracking status and progress through regular reporting and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams involved in application and infrastructure projects, providing guidance and support.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners, as necessary, to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are executed to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Utilize Clarity PPM to manage projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or a minimum of 8 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organizational transformation/change management experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT or SDLC project management.
  • 3+ years managing IT/Enterprise projects, delivered on-time, meeting client expectations/requirements with high team satisfaction.
  • 2+ years using Microsoft Project or similar project management software tool.
  • Experience reporting out to C-Suite.
  • Experience with a PPM system such as Clarity (preferred) or other PPM tool is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Program management experience is a plus.
  • Champion of and highly adept at PMO best practices.
