About the position

The IT Project Manager position at the Department of Defense's DISA - DBC/CYBER DEVELOPMENT DIRECTORATE is a critical role responsible for the development, management, and implementation of IT project plans. This position supports the mission of the US Cyber Command and requires expertise in project planning, risk management, and compliance with regulatory policies. The role is permanent, full-time, and offers telework eligibility as determined by agency policy.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an authoritative consultant and expert in the development, management, and implementation of IT project plans.
  • Develop detailed project plans, tasks, schedules, and identify milestone dates to ensure proper sequencing of events, work efforts, and resources.
  • Evaluate and manage risk of the program through solid estimation and response planning techniques for each assigned project.
  • Track related project's cost throughout the acquisition life-cycle process in concert with financial management to ensure a clear and accurate ongoing picture of associated costs.
  • Coordinate with civilian technical personnel within DoD to ensure architecture is compliant with regulatory policies, communication, software standards, and user requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be registered or exempt from Selective Service if male and born after 12-31-59.
  • Must obtain Acquisition certification in the Program Management Functional Area within 60 months of entry into the position.
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of these fields.
  • Experience in reviewing information technology-related work or data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with customers to assess their information technology needs.
  • Experience in briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems and projects.
  • Experience in identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in coordinating acquisition oversight including cost analysis, scheduling, performance, and risk management of Information Technology programs.
