About the position

The IT Project Manager position at the WDTC Data Sciences Division (DSD) is a critical role responsible for managing, planning, and coordinating the full life cycle of various IT projects. The DSD provides essential Information System (IS) and Information Technology (IT) services to WDTC Divisions and Department of Defense (DOD) customers. The successful candidate will ensure that all project goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and budgetary parameters while maintaining customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide project teams towards meeting defined deliverables and fostering positive relationships with customers and key stakeholders. The IT Project Manager will be tasked with configuring IT services in accordance with Department of Defense Secure Recommendation Guides (SRGs) and Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). The position involves operating in compliance with DOD, US Army, and WDTC Security Policies and Plans, as well as documenting processes according to DOD, US Army, and WDTC Configuration Control Board (CCB) requirements. The primary place of performance is at Dugway Proving Ground, UT, with potential IS and IT services required at alternate locations in Salt Lake City and along the Wasatch Front. In addition to project management responsibilities, the IT Project Manager will be expected to provide comprehensive Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting to clients, develop solutions to client requirements, and manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. The role demands exceptional organizational skills, the ability to facilitate teamwork, and strong communication skills to present information clearly and effectively. The IT Project Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations and guidelines while promoting a culture of compliance within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, plan, and coordinate the full life cycle of IT projects.
  • Ensure project goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and budget.
  • Provide project team leadership to meet defined project deliverables.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Configure IT services in accordance with DOD Secure Recommendation Guides and STIGs.
  • Document processes according to DOD, US Army, and WDTC CCB requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting to clients.
  • Develop comprehensive solutions to client requirements and issues.
  • Facilitate teamwork and coordinate efforts for successful project achievement.
  • Schedule, plan, and lead meetings effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
  • Ability to pass a customer background check for access to facilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with technical project life cycles and project methodologies (Agile).
  • Operational knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Solid business strategy skills with the ability to assess operating practices and recommend improvements.
