About the position

The IT Project Manager will oversee small to medium-sized projects for the State of Oregon, ensuring adherence to project management principles as defined in the PMBOK. This role involves managing project budgets, schedules, and resources while reporting on progress and deliverables. The individual will work under the direction of a State supervisor or manager and may also support larger projects or function as a Project Controller. The position requires advanced project management skills and the ability to work with high-level state government officials.

Responsibilities

• Apply project management principles and techniques as defined in the PMBOK.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines.
• Report on progress and status of deliverables.
• Full responsibility for scope management and configuration management.
• Coordinate and oversee all project resources including IS technical staff, customers, and contract personnel.
• Ensure adherence to project management, development, testing, and documentation standards.
• Coordinate the implementation of applications with the assigned LSA.
• Manage resource allocation and project team capacity.
• Conduct project communications and regular 'stand up' project meetings.
• Control and monitor all outsourced tasks.

Requirements

• 7-9 years of advanced project management experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in integration planning and strategy (4-6 years).
• Proficient in learning ability (4-6 years).
• Proficient in teamwork (4-6 years).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (4-6 years).
