About the position

The IT Project Manager / Risk Manager position is a hybrid role based in Jersey City, NJ, or Tampa, FL, requiring three days onsite and two days remote work. This role is designed for a technical risk manager who will provide subject matter expert (SME) support for the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and application development teams within the SIFMU and Risk departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing technical company-wide initiatives, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and managed effectively. Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of experience in IT, risk management, and/or IT audit, with a broad understanding of application security. The role demands knowledge of various technical aspects, including but not limited to PEN and FOSS vulnerabilities, web application security (WAS), service account password rotation, and familiarity with technologies such as Oracle, AWS, Java, Spring Boot, Jenkins, Python, Unix, Linux, Tomcat, and Liberty. The candidate must understand the technical interactions of IT infrastructure, including networks, cloud hosting, virtual environments, and data management. In this position, the individual will be involved in the lifecycle management of various technical projects, collaborating with service and application owners to identify vulnerabilities and implement remediation strategies. The role also includes partnering with control groups and business lines to assess inherent risks, control effectiveness, and residual risks. The candidate will explore opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of controls while simplifying processes without increasing residual risk. Additionally, the role requires monitoring and managing risks, liaising with various entities for audits, and supporting control-testing efforts. Experience with governance, risk, and compliance projects, as well as Agile development methodologies, particularly with Scrum Master experience, is essential. The ability to balance risks in ambiguous and complex situations is also a critical requirement for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Involve in lifecycle management of various tech projects, working with service and application owners to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Partner and liaise with Control Groups and Business FLODs regarding inherent risk assessment, control effectiveness, and residual risk.
  • Explore opportunities to improve the effectiveness of controls while simplifying processes without increasing residual risk.
  • Monitor and manage risk, liaising with various entities for audits and supporting control-testing efforts.
  • Oversee governance, risk, and compliance projects and program oversight.
  • Utilize Agile Development methodologies, with Scrum Master or similar experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, risk management, and/or IT audit required.
  • Broad understanding of Application Security.
