About the position

The IT Project Manager at Valvoline Global is a pivotal role responsible for the planning, implementation, and execution of infrastructure projects. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that project objectives are met, including adherence to scope, time, quality, and budget targets. The IT Project Manager will take ownership of client management, resource planning, and requirements gathering, while developing and maintaining project plans throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. In this role, the IT Project Manager will work under limited supervision to oversee infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include defining and analyzing project requirements, managing project budgets, and ensuring quality through acceptance testing. The IT Project Manager will also lead post-project evaluation sessions to assess outcomes and identify areas for improvement. Collaboration is essential, as the IT Project Manager will work closely with clients, project stakeholders, and team members, including third-party resources, to ensure that all parties are aligned with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules. The role also involves supporting high-level planning and scheduling for approved projects, as well as developing and implementing project management programs utilizing Agile methodology to effectively manage risks and ensure successful project implementation. Additional duties may be assigned by Valvoline Global Operations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and execute infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Define and analyze project requirements and develop/maintain project plans and documentation.
  • Manage project budget, capital, and expenses while ensuring quality through acceptance testing.
  • Lead post-project evaluation sessions to assess project outcomes and identify improvements.
  • Work with clients and project stakeholders to analyze project risks and develop solutions with leadership.
  • Collaborate with project team members and third-party resources to ensure alignment on project requirements and deadlines.
  • Support high-level planning and scheduling for approved and likely roadmap projects.
  • Develop and implement project management programs utilizing Agile methodology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies is required.
  • Experience leading, facilitating, and motivating teams for small to medium IT projects is required.
  • Strong understanding and experience working with business units to achieve their goals is required.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills are required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization are required.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Project and Visio is required.
  • Experience with infrastructure is preferred.
  • PMP, Scrum, or similar certifications are desired.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
