About the position

The IT Project Manager (SYSANALYSIS) position within the Department of Defense involves serving as a senior systems analyst on a project/program support team. The role focuses on complex information technology systems assignments, including planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of critical software development and integration services. The incumbent will work closely with customer functional proponents to formulate requirements and assess impacts for system modifications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior systems analyst within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Information Operations (J6), Program Executive Office (J62), DSS/WMS Portfolio (J62D).
  • Perform complex information technology (IT) systems assignments.
  • Apply analytical processes to the planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software development and integration services.
  • Collaborate with customers to formulate requirements resulting in new system designs or major modifications.
  • Conduct 'level of effort' assessments and impact analyses for fixes, enhancements, and changes based on high-level business requirements.
  • Assist in the evaluation, selection, and integration of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and/or Government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in IT project management.
  • Experience in developing, coordinating, operating, evaluating, and executing IT/Operational Technology project management.
  • Ability to serve as a senior expert responsible for the coordination, implementation, and oversight of various IT project management approaches.
  • Experience in evaluating and planning projects considering legal authorities and changing official policies.
