About the position

The IT Project Manager for the US Department of Transportation (DOT) is responsible for architecting, managing, delivering, and operating data shared services for the DOT user community. This role involves collaboration across various departments to support agency-wide data platforms and initiatives, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with IT security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and manage data shared services for the DOT user community.
  • Oversee data services design and development, ensuring applications are up to date.
  • Interface with project managers, data analysts, and data owners to meet IT security requirements.
  • Translate business objectives into technology needs for data services.
  • Evaluate and analyze next generation data services solutions and strategies.
  • Manage customer needs and expectations to ensure satisfaction with data services.
  • Design and implement systems that impact the Data Services mission, including risk-based and data-driven solutions.
  • Serve as a technical authority in shared service IT security and disaster recovery.
  • Coordinate with Information Systems Security Manager to maintain Authority to Operate.

Requirements

  • Mid-level project management experience.
  • Experience in architecting, managing, delivering, and supporting data services.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SAS, Tableau, Tyler Tech DataHub, Databricks, Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Azure, and AWS data services.
  • Project Management Training/Certification preferred.
