About the position

The IT Project Manager at Soft Tech Consulting is a senior-level role responsible for leading and managing multiple IT projects, particularly focusing on cloud migration. The position requires effective communication with clients and stakeholders, ensuring project deliverables are met, and providing strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle. The IT Project Manager will coordinate various teams, manage budgets, and create executive-level presentations, all while maintaining a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate various groups participating in the cloud migration project.
  • Attend meetings and provide meeting minutes.
  • Proactively anticipate issues before they arise.
  • Coordinate budgetary items, including updating internal spend plans and monitoring contract spending.
  • Monitor project deliverables for multiple projects.
  • Create executive summaries, project plans, and executive-level presentations.
  • Manage contract Periods of Performance (PoPs).
  • Understand infrastructure activities including network, server, performance, applications, and capacity.
  • Familiarity with security technology and products.
  • Consult with clients to assist in the development of strategy, plans, and solutions for projects.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and the infrastructure team to distinguish requests from true needs.
  • Update the project plan, including deliverables, dependencies, assignments, and outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations and status to team members and stakeholders.
  • Follow process and project management best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist the Service Area Director in analyzing the organization’s competitive position within the government and IT industry when requested.
  • Conduct IT industry research and develop presentations that support the Service Area Director's requirements.
  • Prepare and update written business correspondence and organizational documents that are coherent and professional.
  • Provide budgeting information when requested, accessing financial systems to run reports.
  • Schedule executive meetings, organize agendas, take and distribute minutes, and ensure all meetings are ready prior to start.
  • Establish the overall Project Plan incorporating the project schedule and resource assignments for each deliverable.
  • Identify and incorporate all tangible outputs or project deliverables into the plan.
  • Track, monitor, refine, and report the progress of project tasks and deliverable completion against the plan.
  • Coordinate activities with multiple vendors and government personnel.

Requirements

  • Nine years of project management experience in large scale IT hosted environments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Sciences.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • High-level knowledge of cloud technologies.
  • Experience in cloud migration is a plus.
  • Experience with contract pending and tracking project deliverables for multiple projects.
  • Ability to perform independently under time constraints and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand technical vision and communicate it to both technical and non-technical parties.
  • Self-motivated leader with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Information Technology industry.
  • High level of writing skill for producing executive-level documents.
  • High level of computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, SharePoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver quality products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
